Hi there! Today’s newsletter will be different. I am reaching 50 readers and you inspire me to make Unlearning Labs better and brighter. A heartfelt thank you from a very grateful writer.
I started this journey to help us learn better. I am no expert but I like to untangle this world of learning and share it with you with two goals:
Unlearn our patterns to be lifelong learners
Make education better, by knowing that each learner is unique and so should the experience
Why is this newsletter different?
I would like to curate the newsletter with you and make sure you find value in this weekly. I am grateful to share a few moments with you through this newsletter and your feedback helps me curate my course.
I have one question for you - why is unlearning important to you?
I would love to hear your thoughts. Please comment or if you would like to share it privately, let’s start a conversation at vishakhak29@gmail.com.
Till next week,
Vishakha from Unlearning Labs
Unlearning is important to me because it’s learning without the openness to u learn will always be limited by our existing views of the world, ourselves, and what we learned before. Unlearning means having the confidence and strength to challenge the foundation we were taught and truly opening ourselves up to change and growth.
Thank you for posing this question!
Over time as we grow older from our various experiences in life , we develop different circuits in our brains ….some unhealthy ones which may develop as coping mechanisms , some built from societal pressure , traumatic experiences etc.
Maintaining a unlearning culture gives me the opportunity to be open to seeing the worldview from a different lens …a clearer lens , a healthier lens .
And working with children is the epitome of unlearning for me 🙂, they always have a fresh unadulterated perspective . That is why unlearning is important for me .
